Eskdale School is a growing, semi-rural full primary school situated in the Esk Valley, Hawkes Bay (approximately 300 students from Years 0-8).
We provide a stimulating, future-focused learning environment that equips students with the necessary skills to succeed in the ever-changing world we live in.
Today's learners ~ Tomorrow's leaders
Ko ngā konga o nāianei, he manukura mō āpōpō
This vision guides everything we do. As our tamariki become confident learners who are beginning to develop leadership skills and qualities, they will see themselves as leaders. This takes place within a supportive environment where everyone (students, staff, whānau and the wider community) actively demonstrates our school values of:
We provide a rich, blended learning environment that allows students to develop and achieve academically, physically, socially and emotionally. As an Enviro-Gold school we also focus on the children learning sustainability.
We welcome visitors and all families, both existing and new to the area. You can contact the school in the following ways:

Ahi ahi Marie,
I hope you all managed to make the most of the glorious long weekend weather. Welcome to Week 3 and another short school week.
We are starting swimming this week. Each class will let parents know what day/s they are swimming so that you can send along togs and a towel.
Also coming up this week we have a group of children heading to the Chess tournament on Friday. We wish them all the best.
Have a great week.

Good morning everyone,
Welcome to Week 2. This is a short week and may seem even shorter with the reminders coming out today instead of yesterday.
Firstly, thank you for your support with the hats. It has been awesome having all the children arriving at school with their hats ready to go.
Last week the attendance was back to record levels with Kea in third place, Tui in second and Weka in first place. Both Tui and Weka had over 99% attendance across the week.
A reminder school is closed on Friday for HB Anniversary and on Monday for Labour Day.
Important: We have changed our prize giving night to Wednesday 9 December to avoid a clash with NGHS who have moved theirs to Thursday 10 December.
Coming up this term - Keep an eye out for your child's PAT test report summary which will be coming home in week 6 and the end of year written reports will be coming home on Friday 11 December. (No seesaw reports this term)
The 4th term always seems to really accelerate between now and Christmas so please keep an eye on the calendar.
Year 8 Camp Sponsorship - we are still looking for Year 8 camp sponsors, please see the attached flyer. Thanks to those businesses who have already jumped on board.
Enjoy the short week and long weekend.

Term 4 is usually the busiest term of the year and the one ahead looks to be no different with a variety of activities planned as well as lots of learning. Please use the school calendar to stay abreast of what's coming up.
In Term 4 hats are compulsory. Please make sure your child leaves home in the morning with a hat. We encourage full brim hats but accept that caps can sometimes be more practical when children are running around at break times. Compulsory hat wearing starts today, Tuesday, 13 October 2026.
Coming up this week:
Wednesday Afternoon - NBHS music groups to perform to the school.
Friday - Cricket Coaching starts for Year 2- Year 6 classes.
